About The Artist
HENDERSON is an MD by education, a psychiatrist by profession, and an artist by compulsion. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, film, poetry, and writing, examining the unstable terrain between order and chaos, identity and dissolution, faith and doubt.
Drawing on more than two decades of work in psychiatry, Henderson approaches the human figure as a psychological landscape. Faces fracture, bodies distort, and recognizable forms emerge from—or disappear into—fields of gesture, color, and erasure. Rather than depicting the individual as fixed or resolved, his work explores consciousness as something perpetually being constructed, dismantled, and reconstructed.
Across his practice, Henderson returns to a central question: what remains of the self when the structures used to define it begin to collapse? His work occupies that threshold—not simply as an image of disorder, but as a place where transformation becomes possible.
